The Mindme personal alarm

Quick Links

Mindme is a purpose-made personal alarm that is small and compact.  It's smaller than a credit card and no thicker than a box of matches.  It can be worn around the neck using the supplied lanyard, it can be clipped to a belt or it can be kept in a pocket.

When it’s worn the alarm can be activated by tugging the device which will release the toggle.  Holding down the SOS button will also activate the alarm.  Either way the device will vibrate telling you that it’s started its alarm sequence.

Mindme incorporates the latest satellite technology (GPS). When the alarm is activated Mindme sends its location to the Emergency Response Centre (ERC) and your details and location are flashed onto an Operator’s screen. Your location will be displayed on either street-level mapping or as an aerial photograph and the information will be accurate to within a few metres.

Mindme then makes a voice call to the Response Team. You’ll know that an Operator has answered your call because Mindme will vibrate again. A Response Team Operator will listen into and assess the incident and if it’s safe you can talk to the Operator. If you are receiving verbal abuse or about to be physically assaulted it’s unlikely you will be able to talk! Don’t worry; the Operator will be able to hear what’s happening and will summon help to you.

Mindme lets you tell the ERC where you are at any time. This is useful if you are entering a building. You can even leave a voice message telling the ERC exactly where you’re going within the building.

For users who work in areas where network coverage is flaky a multi-network SIM is available.  That means that if the connection to the O2 network is weak Mindme will log onto the strongest network available.

In stand-by Mindme has a battery life of at least 18 hours. Before it looses power Mindme will send you a text message asking you to urgently charge it.
