Where Are They?

Quick Links

Knowing that they can check at any time the whereabouts of a dementia sufferer gives carers peace of mind and, perhaps, gives the sufferer freedom which otherwise would have to be curtailed.

There are three ways in which a carer can find the location of the user.

  • Use a computer to visit Mindme’s website.
  • Use your mobile phone or PDA to get there.
  • In an emergency ask Mindme’s Response Centre to tell you.

Whichever way you choose you will need to login by entering your username and PIN and then click on the location button.

You can see a location on a Google street level map:

Google Map Street Level

or you can see the location as a satellite image:

Google Map Satelite

Note the address, date and time on the left hand side. So long as the time stated is within 4 minutes of your current time you know the location is up to date.

In this example if the location is older than 4 minutes it means the user has moved from drive into the building.

There is a difference between simply checking the position of the sufferer and needing to know the location because they have disappeared. That’s when most carers ask the Response Centre to help them. You can read about that by clicking on the Emergency Response Centre link.
